Diversity Night – Find yourself. Be yourself.
We all come from different backgrounds; and when we use this dynamic to work together, we not only yield higher quality results but also treat each other more fairly. In other words, we are simply better when we work in diverse teams. Leveraging these benefits requires an individual effort from all of us: How can we overcome unconscious prejudices? How do we find our place in diverse teams? How do we learn to appreciate the individual characteristics and strengths of others? And how can we drive positive change and personally help build a culture of equality?
Phenix Kühnert, an author, speaker, singer, actress and LGBTQIA activist, has volumes of valuable knowledge from her own experience in these matters. She understands the repercussions of going against the supposed norm and why it is critical to stand up for more tolerance and diversity in society. Fikri Anıl Altıntaş is a freelance author and the #HeForShe ambassador for UN (United Nations) Women Germany. He likes to question stereotypical role models and breaking away from antiquated habits.
Together with Accenture’s diversity experts Ruta Ghebremeskal, Kim Moquenco and Felix Steinhardt, they will share their personal stories at Diversity Night and provide tips and tricks for both work and life in general.
This special event is your opportunity to ask the experts all your questions about diversity. You will have the chance to network with people from various backgrounds in a personal setting. Let’s learn more about how we can drive positive change and directly make a difference in our workplace and beyond.
This joint event by DIE ZEIT and Accenture is for Accenture employees, graduates and professionals. It’s for everyone who is interested in hearing more about how companies can prioritize inclusion and diversity. Please join us for Diversity Night!

Ruta was born in Eritrea and has lived in Germany since she was two years old. She grew up in a neighborhood with a 95% white population – she says about herself, that she doesn’t fit into any category. At school, Ruta was confronted with racism early on because of her skin color and her ethnic background. Despite being smart and ambitious, she received little support from teachers and others – which didn’t stop her from doing her high-school diploma and then studying business informatics. Today, Ruta works at Accenture as a Project Manager in the Cloud Infrastructure team. As a black woman, she is also involved in the African-German Community at Accenture – a “safe space” where colleagues with different African backgrounds can come together to share their experiences.

Phenix started on social media with educational queer content. As a pioneer, she produced content with the goal of educating, as she herself experiences discrimination as a trans woman. In 2022, she published her autobiography „Eine Frau ist eine Frau ist eine Frau: über trans Sein und mein Leben“ with Haymon Publishing. Phenix has been a guest in numerous media, filmed a leading role in the Munich Tatort, held lectures, hosted one of the top 10 podcasts and inspired over 600,000 people on stage at the Berlin CSD. In early 2023 Phenix made her biggest dream come true and released her debut single „When We Dance“.
