Date: 11 May 2019
Time: 12:30 – 15.00
Where: BOZAR CENTRE FOR FINE ARTS, Henry Le Boeuf Hall, Rue Ravensteinstraat 23, 1000 Brussel
Thousands of Europeans transcending national borders for a face-to-face discussion with someone from a neighboring country, all at the same time on the same day: That is the vision of Europe Talks, which on 11 May will be taking place across the continent for the first time. We cordially invite you to join us for the opening of this festival of European dialogue in Brussels.
Prominent European voices will take the stage at the BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels to share their passionate, and perhaps contentious, views of Europe and to celebrate what makes Europe unique. The program will be rounded out with music and art. Find the latest version of our program here.
Debate partners from Italy, Austria and Finland will discuss what divides people in their home countries – and what unites them, despite their political differences. In addition, 100 debate partners from all European countries, pairs that have been matched through Europe Talks, will also be in attendance at BOZAR, where they will conduct their own personal, pan-European discussions.
Europe Talks is an initiative of ZEIT ONLINE in cooperation with 15 media partners from across Europe including La Repubblica and HuffPost (Italy), Financial Times (UK), Gazeta Wyborcza (Poland), Der Standard (Austria), arte.tv (France/Germany), Capital (Bulgaria), Politiken (Denmark), Morgenbladet (Norway), Delfi (Estonia and Latvia), EfSyn (Greece), De Standaard and Knack (Belgium) and Helsingin Sanomat (Finland).
Europe Talks is supported by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany in cooperation with the European Cultural Foundation, the Allianz Cultural Foundation, Stiftung Mercator and the Evens Foundation and in additional partnership with the BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts Brussels und Interrail.
